Al-Ma’rad
Al-Ma’rad is a homage to the two Arab National Exhibitions which took place in Jerusalem in 1933 and 1934. The two exhibitions were events of profound significance in Palestine during the British Mandate period. Bringing together industries and crafts from all over the Arab World to Jerusalem, the events sought to overcome the region’s colonial fragmentation after World War I. They affirmed Jerusalem’s leading role in the cultural and economic Arab Nahda of the early twentieth century. «Al-Ma’rad» exhibits a range of historical materials, artworks and crafts that has been collected from archives and private collections, some of which are exhibited for the first time
